These time lapse and realtime clips were shot Saturday evening, 11-15-2008 near Placerita Canyon Road and Sierra Highway, looking at the fires to the south and east. The "shooting star" objects in some of the sequences are flares, which are being used by the firefighters to start "backfires" just ahead of the main fireline, in order to burn the fuel before the main fire arrives. These backfires can normally be used only on the upwind side of a fire. :-) Note: This is copyrighted material, however, you may download this footage directly from YouTube and use it free of charge in your own non-profit/non-commercial YouTube videos.
