Walking tour of most of the settlement on Mambor island, with narration. Mambor is located in the Haarlem Islands in Nabire regency in Papua province, Indonesia. About 500 people live there. Most are speakers of an Austronesian language called Moor. I greet a few people in this language as I walk by (marasina kaumo means "good afternoon"). This video was recorded in August 2008.

Apr 12, 2009 - I spent six weeks on Mambor in 2008 studying the language. I understand simple conversation if it's spoken slowly, but I'm not really fluent. I plan to go back for a few weeks in May. What part of Papua are you from?

Apr 12, 2009 - I'm from Jayapura but this place is familiar to me. I might be back to Papua in the mid of May as well from the state and help children in school (teaching etc). Well, it is nice to know someone like you who tries to understand others' cultures
. . . . . . . because these video appear directly from youtube.com which we cannot control it.)
